1. SLEEP Make sure you get at least 2 nights of good sleep before your photo session so that you will look fresh
and won't have bags under your eyes. Beauty sleep is real.... Also, Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get
here - you won't want to be rushed. Plan on arriving about 15 minutes before your scheduled session time so you
can get your outfits and props unloaded and situated in the dressing room.

2. HAIR Guys should schedule a hair cut no earlier than 5 days before your session, this allows time for any
white tan lines to disappear. Also, take the time to get a close shave. Girls, if you plan on getting a new style or
coloring your hair, also allow at least a week to get accustom to the style. If you want to bring some hair
accessories to change it up a bit between poses. I can help you with this but it is best to keep it to something
simple and quick.

3. CLOTHES Have your clothes and accessories ready the night before your shoot. Choose clothes that reflect
your style, the changing seasons and your background choices. If you are uncertain bring more than you need
and I can help you with the selection. Make sure your clothes are clean and free of wrinkles. For each outfit, put
your accessories in a zip lock bag and attach to the hanger. Also, check to see if you have tan lines that will show
with the different outfits you are going to wear. Click here for additional clothing tips.

4. THE FACE Eyebrows – Portraits focus on the face. Make sure your eyebrows are neatly groomed. Bushy
eyebrows are nearly impossible to “touch up.” Girls, bring your make-up, hair spray and curling/straightening
iron to do touch ups. Make sure that your foundation is blended into your neck so that when you look into the
mirror your neck is not too white. Bring chapstick or lip gloss to to keep your lips moist. For more tips click
here. Guys, I suggest facial hair be neatly trimmed. Shadows and shaggy beards tend to be intensified in
photographs. It is also a good idea for you to have some chapstick on hand also.

5. BLEMISHES Don't worry...your final prints will look great! Don't wear too much make-up trying to hide
blemishes. It will be easier for me to retouch your prints if you keep a more natural look.

6. GLASSES If you wear glasses, bring an extra pair of frames without lenses. Many Optometrists will allow you
to borrow a pair of frames for your Senior pictures. If you can't, don't worry about it, but we may not be able to
avoid all lens glare.

7. SMILE Your portrait will be taken with and without you smiling. If you don't like your smile get infront of a
mirror and practice it. Once you like a smile, close your eyes and smile, then open your eyes and see if it looks
the way you want. Get comfortable to how it feels to smile the way you think you look best. Don't be afraid to
whiten your teeth if you think you need to.

8. PERSONALITY Bring something that reflects your personality, talents or hobbies, such as musical
instruments, sports equipment, awards, etc. I allow pets, and can work with motorcycles or cars. Having your
picture taken with what you enjoy will create unique portraits. I can even go on location to your house or favorite
spot. Just be sure to mention that ahead of time as there may be a minimal fee involved due to distance/travel time.

9. BRING A FRIEND It can be really fun to have your pictures taken with a friend. Just let me know ahead of time
and no worries...your friend will not be obligated or pressured to purchase portraits from me.

10. FINISHING TOUCHES Guys, make sure your fingernails are nicely trimmed. Girls, pamper yourself with a
manicure and pedicure the day before.

But this is OHIO what about the WEATHER! Cloudy days are the easiest and best for photography. With rain, we
wait until your session time to determine whether to continue or reschedule. Since the weather can change hour
to hour, it could be raining on your way to our studio, but then turn into a great, photogenic day.

Most of all RELAX and HAVE FUN!!!
